I got your douche!!!

Very few people will know what that title means...and even fewer would be amused if I tried to explain.

What a busy weekend! Friday night we had a small going away happy hour for our library aid, Dana. She has decided she doesn't need to work anymore - must be nice. It will be nice though since she won't be working anymore she can have beverages ready for us at her house at 3:35 on any given day.

Saturday was Corrie's day of beauty. I got my hair cut and my nails and toes done. Saturday night was an end of school gathering at a place called Texas Tavern. But before we went there, Chad, Sarah, Jason and I went to Sylvia's. It's pretty far from where we were supposed to be but it is so worth the drive. The food is awesome and the margarita's are the best. I told Chad next time we go there we are just going to get a room on that side of town so we can have as many margs as we want and not have to drive home. :-) Then we went to Texas Tavern. It's a small little joint in Cypress. There was a band playing. It was loud and smokey but we had a good time. It's there where we came up with the title of the blog. I took pictures that I thought would be funny to post but looking at them now (while I'm sober) I think they will work out best if they just stay on my phone. I will post this one though. It's a picture of Sarah and I right before our buttery nipple shot. There were lots of teachers doing shots there.

And then Sunday I got to play housewife and do loads of overdue laundry and clean up the house so the cleaning people can come tomorrow....makes sense, huh?

3 more days......

How many more days?

I usually don't count down how many days we have until school is out because I think it makes the time go by even slower but this year I'm counting down and for all of you who are wondering (and I know not many of you are) we have five (5) more days with kids. I have to be there six more days but only 5 more with the kids. Woo-hoo!!! My kids have really worn me out this year. There are even adults in my school that are wearing me out. The happy hours are becoming more frequent so I know I'm not the only one feeling this way.

I have several things that I am looking forward to this summer. My birthday is coming up - the big 3-5. Then Chad, the Doodlebug and I are piling in Eve with Michelle, Royce and Maddie and we are headed to San Antonio for a few days. Can you say "spa treatment?" Then in July, me, Chad, Chuck, Melissa, Sarah, Jason, and John are flying out to Las Vegas. We got a hella-good deal at Mandalay Bay. We are getting a cabana out by the pool for 2 days and we are going to do tons of relaxing and, most likely, tons of drinking. That's all of my big plans for the summer. I'm heading to the foot doctor next week and I'm hoping he doesn't tell me I need surgery to fix my accessory navicular (boat shaped bone in your foot) that has been bugging me since December. But if he does say I need surgery I'll be taking care of that after Vegas.

5...............

**UPDATE** OMG!!! I forgot one uber-important event for the summer. July 18th - the NKOTB concert. How could I forget that?

Tuesday kinda sucked too....

3:37 this morning, the Doodlebug crawled in bed with me. His breathing didn't sound right - it was rapid and he was kind of grunting every time he would exhale. I made Chad listen to it for a while and after about 10 minutes he decided it didn't sound right and headed off to the ER with the Doodlebug. Turns out he has bronchitis - which he didn't have at the after hours clinic last night so it came on rather rapidly. He had to do a breathing treatment at the hospital which lasted about 45 minutes and they also gave him an oral steroid. They wanted to also give him a steroid shot but daddy intervened and prevented that. Here he is at the hospital - look at those eyes.

They got home a little after 8:00. He came in, said hi, and threw up on me.....welcome home baby. He took a good nap and woke up feeling better. His breathing is still rapid and he still sounds like a seal when he coughs but at least he is acting like he feels ok. He'll get a few days of rest and hopefully be back to his normal self.

Wednesday has to be better, right?

Hey Monday....suck it!!!!

My throat has been hurting since Friday, which is a little unusual for me. If I get a sore throat it usually only lasts about a day. I haven't been sleeping well and my throat is still hurting and because of the little sleep I've been getting I was really exhausted this morning and I didn't think I would have the patience to deal with 4th graders today so I decided to let someone else deal with them. My mom asked if I needed her to take the kids....no, I'll be fine. The Doodlebug had school today and my plan was to rest when the Ladybug rested. My first opportunity to rest lasted about zero seconds thanks to a Clooney-cintric episode of ER. My second opportunity was going to be a good one until the Doodlebug's school called to inform me he was sick and I needed to come get him....ok, I'm on my way. The Ladybug is still rubbing her ears after 2 rounds of antibiotics so I made a doctor's appointment for both bugs. We had to go to the after hours clinic, which we found out once we got there that the after hours clinic was at a different location this evening due to a power outage. WTF??? Why didn't I get a phone call??? I did - 2 actually, whilest I was dining at PF Chang's before the appointment. You gotta love the after hours clinic though - in and out of there with 2 kids in less than 30 minutes. Anyway, both bugs have ear infections and both are now on antibiotics. Good times. So my plan to rest today completely backfired - I got absolutely no rest.

By the way, the Ladybug is 5 months old today. She's a bit of a show off with the rolling from her back to her belly and back again. She is LOUD!! She makes the funniest noises, is constantly drooling and making bubbles and is a huge giggle box. She is so smiley! She looks like a mini-Chad and still absolutely loves her big brother.

Melissa = Artistic Genius (Carrie, did I spell that right?)

Ok, I know I've mentioned it before but my friend Melissa is an artistic genius. She's currently working on her artistic genius degree and had to do this painting of herself for a class.

It's perfect! Especially the pursing of the lips. That is the exact pursing that you see right before she smacks Chuck for saying/doing something perverted.

And here is their dog Bruce. He always looks like this - so happy...even though he is allergic to cats...which they have 2 of.

Genius....who knew there wasn't an 'O' in that word? And it's pursing of the lips, not piercing - didn't know that one either.

Happy Mudder's Day!

Yes, I know it is not spelled correctly but that is how the Doodlebug says it - so cute.

Mother's Day was great. My bugs gave me flowers and 3 new beads for my Pandora bracelet. But most importantly they gave me lots of love. We started the day out with Chad's parents at Skeeter's. They have an incredible breakfast buffet on the weekends. You should totally check them out if you haven't already....it's so good. That evening, my parents and my brother and sister-in-law came over to the house for dinner. Leah cooked everything for us and it was SO good. Who needs Rachel Ray when I've got Leah Galloway? Rachel who? It was lots of fun visiting with all of the mother's in my life. I love them all!

The rest of the weekend was very relaxing. We started off with happy hour at my house after work on Friday....teachers needed to unwind. Saturday was ultrarelaxing - I did nothing but spend time with my family. It was awesome. I was even able to stay awake for most of Saturday Night Live. Did you see it? Did you laugh as hard as I did? Did you DVR it? Have you watched it over and over again like I have? I can't get enough.

Here is a pic of me and the bugs. Hope your Mudder's Day was as fabulous as mine!

DMB...what a night!

Lately, I've been feelin' low. A remedy is what I'm seeking.

Last Friday was the Dave Matthews Band concert. I've seen these guys in 8 different cities -I've lost count of how many shows I've seen - and they ALWAYS put on a great concert. However, it's been a couple of years since I have seen them. One summer I was pregnant and didn't feel like dealing with the heat. Last year I was protesting my seats (I showed them). So I returned this year and I was not disappointed at all. Let me set the scene for you...there were 11 people in a van with a driver. You know what that means, right? We were far from sober. Example - Corrie and Leah attempting to be seductive:
Forrest and Emily came in from Little Rock for the show. Annual trip perhaps?
At Cafe Adobe, attempting to soak up some of the alcohol before the show:The boys took the stage at 8:10 and the next thing I knew it was 10:45 and they were telling me goodnight - yes, just me. It was an awesome show with an amazing set list. I wish I had a copy of the show. They played some of their new songs as well as some kick ass old songs. Pig, #41, Two Step (BTW - Carter Beauford = bad ass)....hello!!!! I loved the Too Much fake into Grey Street. Fabulous show!!!! It was over way too fast. Here are some pics from the show.

We won't talk about the ride home. But Wally, if you are reading this, I'm sorry. Please don't ignore the call next time you see one of us calling you.

To all of my friends who braved the van with me, and even those who were not in the van, post a comment below and let me know your favorite DMB song line....let me know your favorite moment of the evening....let me know you are still alive.

By the way, is this legal?

Check out my feet!

Love, love, love - what more is there?
